@bakarichard Indeed. Take it slow..don’t rush..get all your tools in order before performing the operation. And run through the process in paper or in your head before you do it. The last thing you want is to fry your mobo or one of the chips. Good luck.
@cacasododom Oh, that was very helpful, thank you very much for your time =D hopefully I’ll have the time to try this tomorrow, wish me luck
G30 pad, sorry. THere is also a diagram in the link I provided in the details of the video.
@bakarichard as I recall, it is the J30 pad. I’m pretty sure there are markings along the X/Y axes that show you what row/column you’re at. As to the pressure applied to the tape..since the piece of tape is tiny, you’ll need a tweezers to place it on the correct pad. After you get the piece of tape centered over the pad, tamp it down lightly just so that the adhesive sticks. This helps to make sure it won’t come off when you place the heat sink back on.
@cacasododom Cool, by the way… how do you know where it goes, and how much pressure to make when placing it?
@bakarichard plain old black electrical tape
What kind of tape? the black one? as in… isolation tape?
so COOL
@borsch21: nice work!
just did a similar bsel mod on my dell vostro 200 (E4400 cpu @ 2ghz, idle temp 41C) and its a success! My current speed is now 2.66ghz and idle temp 28C. The temp is actually lower as Dell did a horrible job with thermAL paste on processor- there was way too much of it and not evenly spread.
I could probably make bsel for 1333mhz or maybe raise fsb from 266 to 300 or even further but it would be too much for mb (unstable) and it doesn’t support 1333mhz. Anyway i made it very simple. I just put some aluminum foil and conected both golden plates and it works.
Ok……i did bsel for my dual core e2160 stock 1.8 now running at 2.4 ghz. It looks very good, idle temp is 29°c, except when i look at systray it shows both cores have many high jumps up and down, like 1% to 50% then like 12% 60% then 0% and so on…..but not all the time…….is that normal??
It doesn’t seem to have done any damage in the two years I’ve had the mod installed. Though I haven’t taken the CPUY apart again to find out!
what about the temperature of the cpu chip, wont it melt the electrical tape????
what about the temperature of cpu chip, wont it melt the electrical tape??????????
And I’m just as good looking.
Good luck!
Very useful video. I’m about to follow this process later today.
You sound a bit like James Arnold Taylor.
is there any ability run intel core 2 duo e7300 on motherboard support till 800 mhz
True dat. But at the time (Oct 2007), it was the best bargain out there..I think it was $800 for eight procs!
wouldnt it be easier to get a quad lol
i personally have a dell quad @ 3ghz
yes, dual quad-core processors running at 1.6Ghz. A little slow, but for multithreaded apps, the thing is a beast.
2 procs?
As far as I know, no. You could scrounge the google or usenet forums just in case.
any idea how to get around the dell bios issues? id love to overclock my ram from 1.8 to a 2.0 or 2.1 but dells bios sucks so bad.
Interesting. Just be careful and let us know how you do if you decide to use nail polish.
