doesn’t it make your card burn ? cuz when i did this it didn’t give me any effect except freezing games and after half an hour or so i felt a strong smell of burning chip material, got back to normal settings and no more smell or freeze …

If you guys know how to overclock then it’s safe. And if you want to be even more safer just put the clocks at the lowest level while web browsing, watching videos etc. But when you need the power overclock it to it’s safe point. Brands like MSI overclocked their Nvidia cards to 1000/2000/1000 in air cooling and the clocks go down to like 200mhz when you leave comp on doing nothing..

@bloodjake12 well You should always buy hardware first hand,
and You can Overclock in a safe way, dont OC it to much, and Add extra Cooling if the temperature rises to much lol

For those who actually want to overclock their GC’s, you need to be careful when applying clocks. Do lots of research beforehand, check out other people’s clocks on tech forums or read a guide on a REPUTABLE tech website before starting. When overclocking, don’t expect an INCREDIBLE boost in performance, you’ll get better performance, but it won’t turn a $20 card into a $200 card. Oh and you do have to worry about temperatures, if you FRY the card, the the manufacturer WILL notice.

No-one feels sorry for you jake. IMO anyone who fails to ask about the condition of a used video card deserves what they end up with. Just think about it. If you were buying a used car (or anything else for that matter), would you not ask the previous owner about it’s condition before making the purchase? It’s a learning experience, enjoy the taste of knowledge.
