    what are your settings? i recently built my friend his pc and overclocked it to 4.0 but not stable enough.

    what are the safe zone temps as max? 80~90C?

    I have the same keyboard :D

    @inachu

    Its a Noctua NH-U12F with a 5200 RPM 240.96 CFM 120mm DELTA fan.
    Also CPU and heat sink are lapped.

  4. inachu says:

    I see you went retail on the heat sink. THe heatsink that came with my i7 was pure crap. I bought the thermaltake.. What is the brand shown in this video?

  5. xtraPom says:

    @krasav4ik82
    No point, video is for an old competition. It was stable enough to run 3DMark.
    If you can do it then do it, seems as if you need to for your own ego.
    End;

  6. krasav4ik82 says:

    @xtraPom Well, I got ya know disinformaer. Well Using gigabyte software for my mobo I can hit 4.6Ghz too. Of course not stable like yours. So whats the point?

  7. xtraPom says:

    @krasav4ik82
    I could, but since I did the film and overclock for a competition it has since been downclocked and the fan is re-soldered so it runs slower and quiet.
    You might want to check lapping if you dont think its possible to run the CPU at that speed, with the right cooling I could have gone further.
    Anyways, who cares? Overclocking is fun and all, but its nothing that I do any more. I buy a new PC if its slow.

  8. krasav4ik82 says:

    @xtraPom Show me your Prime 95 for 15 minutes recorded :-) Let me see. I can boot in windows with 4.6Ghz too, but you claimed it`s stable . Prove it.

  9. xtraPom says:

    @krasav4ik82
    Well, I could have done more but I was afraid to push the VCore higher, would have been €500 in the toilet.
    4Ghz is easy with 950, you need to stop listening to stupid unexperienced people.

  10. xtraPom says:

    @krasav4ik82
    Dont know what your problem is, but to solve your problem you could buy your own i7 950, if you can afford it :)

  11. xtraPom says:

    @Krimghor
    Thing is, all volt increase will shorten the life of your CPU.
    So if you want to overclock and keep the stock VCore then I would not try to go past 4.0ghz.

  12. krasav4ik82 says:

    @xtraPom You cpu is not better then d30, if I could squeezed 4.4 means you will never squeezed 4.6 I am with intel already for a 5 years and same for amd. Oh yeah? Show us a proove, otherwise get out of here and stop confusing people. Prime95 for 15 minutes and record the video on the same computer. You can do it with Moroz Video Capture – software developed by me. I wanna see it. Overclock by software, very unstable my friend(lammer, I will record you video lammer on stock cooler. Hold on).

  13. xtraPom says:

    @gshotchakoo
    HT (Hyper-threading) adds instability while overclocking and lowers the potential overclockable limit.

  14. xtraPom says:

    @krasav4ik82
    Stupid post from a jealous person.
    If you are so über, why didnt you notice that HT was disabled?

  15. gshotchakoo says:

    why are there 4 threads? like Alm3roof said it should be 8!

  16. krasav4ik82 says:

    @xtraPom That guy does not look to be a good overclocker. Run a prime 95 for 10 minutes on that video and show us :-) This overclock is unstable first of all. This guy is a looser.Every overclocker know that with overclocking on air,life of cpu will less at least till you will put it in the basket yourself.I am overclocking for 10 years.My first AMD 1.4 @ 2.2Ghz working still now for my friend with crazy 2.2 voltas instead of 1.65v.By this talk and video I can talk this guy is fake!

  17. Krimghor says:

    how far could i OC my i7 950 bloomfield with a corsair h50 water cooler and still make the CPU last a long time?

  18. Alm3roof says:

    very nice oc but why it just says 4 Threads ?? it should be 8 !!

  19. ImmortalUniverse says:

    @xtraPom
    it will be with your settings anyways.
    a bclk of 191,9 is grazy already.
    the max on this cpu is around 200-210
    i would buy 2000 mhz dimms

    then i can set the mem multuiplyer on 12x and get a very low bclk of 166 mhz
    barely overclocked.
    the cpu multiplyer can be set to 24 or 25x

    so 166mhz x 24x= 3984 mhz =3.98 Ghz cpu speed
    166mhz x 12x= 1992 mhz RAM

    now you got cpu speed : mem speed = 2 : 1
    it will deffinatly be super stable and very very low temps.

    Itel core !7 950

    P6x58 Asus premiun Motherboard

    Noctua NH-d14

    6 gb ram 1800Mhz

    1TB Caviar black

    GTX 460 Supercloked

    That is overcloked?

  21. crimson177 says:

    very bad cable managment

  22. savior02 says:

    wow 22c ambient i can never get that down here in miami my utility bill would be like a grand a month

  23. xtraPom says:

    Cooler + CPU are lapped and Yes it is stable.
    I could push it even more (higher VCore), but then the lifetime of the CPU would be shortened alot.

  24. cyberpepe says:

    Is stable that OC with that cooler???
