Turbo Boost Versus Overclocking

Check out this *secret* site where it’ll show you a cool trick that actually TRIPLES your PC’s performance… Plus tons more!

The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!

Toms Hardware compares performance on Core i5-750 and Core i7-860 CPUs with Turbo Boost disabled, Turbo Boost enabled, and both processors overclocked to 4 GHz to answer whether its worthwhile to tune your system manually.

    good video, thanks

@geksii k,thanks for the reply but yh i found out it’s already enabled. i felt kinda silly when i found out . :P

  3. geksii says:

@wtfiyn in your bios bud, but it should be automatically enabled if your chip set does have turbo boost :)

  4. blak2650 says:

what you think about overclocking and turbo :) ))

  5. wtfiyn says:

how do you enable turbo boost?

  6. mzr00001 says:

u turned it up to 1.5 DONT DO THAT PEOPLE… THAT IS WAY TOO HIGH, YOU DONT NEED THAT MUCH FOR 4GHZ…. 1.5 is the max voltage the cpu can take… the life of it will most likely be reduced alot… i got 4ghz at 1.38-1.4 vcore…. turn off vdroop…

hi there. i have an hp-dv7 laptop with a core i5 at 2.26 ghz. it says on the box where it lists the specs "turbo boost up to 2.57ghz." how do i do that? is it eneabled already? if not, how do i enable it and once its enabled how do i turn it off? i understand the copncept but have never overclocked anything.

Me too.. but I dont dont how to Turbo Boost..LOL

"For sure. Check out the upcoming Clarkdale launch coverage on Tom’s. You’ll see both Intel- and AMD-based CPUs performing very well without the need for overclocking"

how exactly does one enable turbo boost? im not going for overclocking because it looks too risky

  13. patalex07 says:

yep i have one i5 750 and it realy great !

  14. patalex07 says:

not realy better because with the i5 750 turbo boost on you will have 3.2Ghz and the overclock on that video was 4Ghz so it not to compare im sure if it was the cpu with turbo boost on at 3.2Ghz and if the turbo off o/c at 3.2Ghz the performance are pretty much the same and for efficienty it sure turbo on is better for that because the clock and voltage alternate so better efficienty

For sure. Check out the upcoming Clarkdale launch coverage on Tom’s. You’ll see both Intel- and AMD-based CPUs performing very well without the need for overclocking.

  16. WhatIsAlaviable says:

You can still get great performance without overclocking/turbo right?

  17. clxyz says:

    thanks for the video.
so….overclock is better than Turbo Boost?
    But about efficienty?

  18. Lytesson says:

    cool cool

    Great video.

more specs less talking… nice vid
